Faster than my heartbeat
<p>It’s starting slowly,</p><p>very slowly,</p><p>crawling down my skin</p><p>with the patience of a snail</p><p>yet moving quicker than my heartbeat,</p><p>as if my own blood can’t keep up</p><p>with the whispers beneath my flesh.</p><p><br/></p><p>The temptation stirs,</p><p>gentle at first,</p><p>a shadow brushing against the edges of my thoughts,</p><p>urging me to try things</p><p>I have never dared before.</p><p>It tells me the unknown is sweeter</p><p>than the silence of restraint.</p><p><br/></p><p>They say a single taste</p><p>determines the rest—</p><p>that once the tongue learns</p><p>the flavor of fire,</p><p>the mouth will forever crave</p><p>its burning kiss.</p><p>And I can feel it now,</p><p>that fire waiting,</p><p>a spark turning restless</p><p>inside my ribs.</p><p><br/></p><p>It is not loud,</p><p>it is not sudden—</p><p>it is the slow unraveling</p><p>of boundaries I once thought unshakable.</p><p>It is the gentle touch</p><p>that becomes a grip,</p><p>the quiet thought</p><p>that becomes a scream.</p><p><br/></p><p>And here I stand,</p><p>skin alive with crawling desires,</p><p>heart racing against a clock</p><p>that refuses to stop.</p><p>Part of me trembles at the danger,</p><p>part of me aches for the plunge.</p><p>For what is life</p><p>without the risk of falling,</p><p>without the taste of something</p><p>that could either save me</p><p>or undo me forever?</p><p>Name</p>
