FLIGHT OF THE FORSAKEN

Yesterday I attended a friend’s candle night, and at that moment I asked myself: who’s next?

Don’t get it twisted....I am not wishing anyone death. I was only wondering if there is a list somewhere.

Seeing someone today and tomorrow they are no more is one of the most tragic experiences in life. The thought that you may never see that person again.

While songs of sorrow filled the air, I kept thinking: when we meet by the riverside again, will we come with all the riches we had in life? The land, the money, the properties, the flashy things we keep saving to buy?

Is this truly the end result of all the hustling?

Is this the end of doing dirty jobs just to make ends meet?

Vanity?

Then my mind went to grudges.

A lady spoke yesterday and said she hated the guy from the very moment she knew him. She said the first time they truly conversed last year...after years of knowing him....she realized he wasn’t the person she thought he was.

Unfortunately, that became the last time they would ever speak again.

And I asked myself again: Bibi, are you holding a grudge against anyone right now?

Just last week, a coursemate of mine died. We had issues when she was alive. When I heard the news, I wept bitterly. I kept saying to myself, if only I had known, I would have settled everything with her.

But now, I have no other option than to forgive.

Standing there yesterday, those words kept hitting me like bullets.

So I ask you too:

That person you are fighting with… when do you plan to forgive them?

When they are long gone and you have no other choice?

And to those chasing everything just to survive...just to wear Chanel, Gucci and Hermès...are you planning to take them with you when you are gone? Vanity!

I hope this message reaches someone.

Death is brutal.

Rest on, Gift.

Rest on, Praise. 🕯️
