God Never Forgets, so Why should You?

Ebenezer year, Ebenezer year.

And somehow, you've forgotten what God has done for you.

Omo, I'm talking to myself too.

Because my mind is a very funny place, I can remember the exact stupid thing someone said to me three years ago, but somehow I struggle to remember the countless things God has done for me.

That's when I realised there was a problem. The enemy loves to play with our minds, magnifying our worries while shrinking our past testimonies.

Let me open my mouth and testify a little. I run a foundation that tries to support people living with special needs and their families, and there have been many times when the money wasn't there. Yet somehow, every single time, the event still happened. The food was provided. The programme went on. The needs were met.

And I had to stop and ask myself: how did this happen?

Because I know my financial situation.

It was simply God. And I found myself worrying about this year's event and wondering," What's going to happen?"

If he did it before, He can do it again. The Bible is full of reminders of God's faithfulness.

The same God who remembered Hannah after years of waiting and blessed her with Samuel.

The same God who protected Daniel in the lions' den.

The same God who preserved Joseph through his brothers' betrayal, slavery, and prison before lifting him to leadership.

The same God who parted the Red Sea for Moses and the stubborn children of Israel.

And the same God who helped David defeat Goliath with a stone. That God has not changed.

So why do we forget? Why do we panic as if God has suddenly retired from performing miracles? The word Ebenezer literally means "Thus far the Lord has helped us." It was a reminder not to forget what God had already done.

This is a small charge to you and to me as well.

Remember.

Now, I'm ending NYSC soon, and I'm thinking about the money and job aspect. I remember when I was looking for a job in 2024, and God came through, so I'm happy to share my testimony of what He did for me.

One thing I'm also trying to remember is that if God is blessing people around me, it simply means He is still in the neighbourhood. And that means my turn may just be next.

So, yes! This is still my Ebenzer year, and I hope you remember too.

Love,

The one who will never panic
