Gratitude - A story
<p>A baby wails</p><p>"Congratulations, it's a boy"</p><p>Eight, nine, ten months gone</p><p>Was safe in the belly, now the race has begun</p><p>Few months pass, the track was smooth</p><p>His first hurdle... Oh no, he can't breathe</p><p>He manages to jump but scalds his knee</p><p>Many more months, he realise he is not alone</p><p>With two older siblings he soon got to know.</p><p><br/></p><p>Years pass, another thing he realised</p><p>A constant factor in this family of five</p><p>A man, a Spirit, a God. </p><p>His name? <span style="background-color: transparent;">Jesus, invisible He is</span></p><p>But still makes this family six</p><p>'Jesus is my brother, His father created me after all'</p><p><br/></p><p>Eight years , He knew Jesus</p><p>Or Jesus knew him</p><p>He has learned that one's lifestyle should be in Him</p><p>He knows this but still doesn't get it</p><p>'There should be some compromise' he thought</p><p>'The world isn't black and white</p><p>He bends himself to go with other racers on the track</p><p>Unbeknownst to him, he is forfeits his own race.</p><p><br/></p><p>But grace is still there as his 'Brother' is with him</p><p>Three days away, a retreat, a rescue</p><p>The Spirit came, his foolishness revealed</p><p>His eyes opened and the veil was removed.</p><p>Fifteen years , he found Christ</p><p>Now Jesus knows him</p><p>It's amazing three days was all it took</p><p>But he has tasted the glory</p><p>And now he's never letting go</p><p><br/></p><p>Nineteen years </p><p>How deeper the glory still</p><p>He has come a long way; many hurdles</p><p>Seen and unseen, big and small</p><p>Now he knows </p><p>'There is more to this race</p><p>With Him every hurdle I face</p><p>Is just a sign that progress was made</p><p>I no longer see the track</p><p>I see no other racers</p><p>All I see is Him, Jesus, up ahead</p><p>As I follow behind Him </p><p>Yet He is still beside me</p><p>And also behind me helping me go on.'</p><p><br/></p><p>How Can this be</p><p>Oranmonise fayati</p><p>He speaks to him</p><p>Reminding this boy of who he is </p><p>Of what He has won for him</p><p>His mouth, full</p><p>But the words are lost</p><p>All this boy has is his <strong>gratitude</strong>.</p>
