Hopefully, after this piece, you all will need to go see this wonder called Bao Bun. I worked in a catering agency for a year. I joined a section as a complete novice and that's the pastry section, I was fortunate enough to be part of the team without paying a dime and also getting paid at the end of every month.
As a pastry chef in other terms, you are a baker, I prefer to introduce myself as a pastry chef because it sounds more suffocated and appealing.
To cut a long story short started working fully as an apprentice and started learning how to bake, the catering agency dealt more with intercontinental dishes so most of the time we baked recipes not common.
On this faithful day, we had an order of some amount of bao buns and it was the first time I would be doing something like that., Bao is a steamed bun and it can come in different shapes, it can be by itself or filled with sweet/savory filling.
The ingredients were separate, and the process was separate.
I would pinpoint some of the ingredients and instruments to have fluffy bao buns
1. Flour
2. Water mixed with Oil
3. Industrial and Flavoured Milk
4. Yeast
5. Sugar and Salt
We will be needing some of these instruments to help speed up the process
1. Baking basket
2. Roller pin
3. Parchment paper
4. Flour Cutter
In my next article, I will be carrying us across how to make this bao bun with a step-by-step illustration. Because it is not until you have an oven, bao requires a pot filled with water on gas.
You won't want to miss part 2 of this information stay glued guys.
