He Came Knocking 3 Weeks After His Burial

Episode 2

Just as Mary was about to open the door. She heard a car horn. Mary froze, unsure what was happening outside. She stayed still, holding her breath, hearing only her own heartbeat.

Then another knock.

And this time, a voice.

Familiar, but different.

“Mary! Mary!”

It was her mother.

“Mum?” Mary whispered, moving closer to the window.

She peered through the curtain yes, it was her.

“Mum, you didn’t tell me you were coming.”

“My phone went off,” her mother replied. “I should have been here earlier, but my car broke down. Please, open the door. I’m exhausted.”

Mary took a deep breath and opened the door, still shaken.

She looked around for any sign of Peter but the street was empty.

Quickly, she locked the door behind them.

Her mother studied her face. “You look worried, my daughter. What’s wrong?”

Mary’s eyes filled with tears. “Mum… I saw Peter. … he knocked on the door. I heard his voice. He said he couldn’t sleep outside.”

Her voice broke.

Her mother placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “I know what you’re going through. Your mind is still holding on to him. That wasn’t real, my dear. You miss him, and your heart is trying to bring him back.”

Mary sobbed. “I don’t know what to do without him, Mum. He was everything. Just two months after our wedding, and now he’s gone.”

Her mother wiped her tears.

“It’s okay, my child. I’ll stay with you until you heal. Life takes from us sometimes, but don’t lose yourself in the pain. You may lose people, or even things you hold dear but never lose your purpose. Peter has played his part and gone home. Now it’s time for you to live your own story, too.”

Those words comforted Mary.

It took months, but she slowly found strength again.

Since that night, she never saw him or heard the knock again only peace… and healing.

A year later, she fell in love again and moved on.

Yet deep within her heart, she carried one truth:

This world is not a permanent home. So live fully, love wisely, and never forget to stay happy.

The End

Expect another story soon......
