How I Survive University on a Student Budget (No Cap)
<p>Bro, let’s be honest for a second 🤲</p><p>Being a student in Nigeria is basically a survival game.</p><p>Like why is everything expensive now??</p><p>Even air feels like it has tax 😭</p><p><br/></p><p>But somehow, I still dey survive.</p><p>So let me drop the Real Life Student Budget Survival Guide</p><p>(No lecturer will teach you this one.)</p><p><br/></p><p>1. Learn the Art of “Do You Have 50?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Listen… Nobody is too big to ask for small contributions.</p><p>You see that “make we run am together” mentality?</p><p>Use it.</p><p>A snack suddenly feels cheaper when 3 of you are sharing the bill 🤝</p><p><br/></p><p>2. Stop Impulse Spending (This One Pain 💔)</p><p><br/></p><p>You know that thing where you say:</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’ll only buy one thing.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Next thing, your wallet is crying and your account balance is giving obituary 🧍</p><p><br/></p><p>Before you buy anything, ask yourself:</p><p>“Do I want it or am I just bored?”</p><p><br/></p><p>If boredom is the reason → Go and drink water.</p><p>Free of charge 😭</p><p><br/></p><p>3. Cook More, Buy Less (I Know, I Know 😩)</p><p><br/></p><p>At Redeemer’s Uni especially, food prices can humble a destiny.</p><p>But when you cook, suddenly life makes sense again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Even if it’s just:</p><p><br/></p><p>Indomie with talent</p><p><br/></p><p>Rice + stew + hope</p><p><br/></p><p>Bread & beans (the holy combo)</p><p><br/></p><p>Your wallet will breathe.</p><p>Your ancestors will bless you 🙏</p><p><br/></p><p>4. Befriend the Plug 🔌</p><p><br/></p><p>There is ALWAYS someone who knows how to get things cheaper.</p><p>Make friends with that person.</p><p><br/></p><p>It could be:</p><p><br/></p><p>A food plug</p><p><br/></p><p>A thrift plug</p><p><br/></p><p>A hair/barber plug</p><p><br/></p><p>A “network always works in my room” plug 😭</p><p><br/></p><p>Connections will save your life in Uni more than GPA sometimes.</p><p><br/></p><p>5. Avoid “Trying to Impress People” Syndrome 🤡</p><p><br/></p><p>Some people are acting rich for Snapchat and Instagram.</p><p>Meanwhile their account balance is ₦73.19.</p><p><br/></p><p>Be calm.</p><p>Be wise.</p><p>Your time to ball will come.</p><p>You just need to survive this semester 😂💔</p><p><br/></p><p>6. For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
