I bled in the shape of us

They told me to let go.

To move on.

To forget you like you were something small,

something replaceable.

But they never heard our laughter

spill into the quiet,

never saw the way your eyes found mine

like the rest of the world had blurred away.

They didn’t know how real it was—

How real you were to me.

So tell me—

What was I supposed to do

when I tried until my heart felt worn thin,

until loving you became heavier

than I could carry?

I held on until my hands ached,

until my grip trembled,

until the pain of holding

and the fear of losing

felt exactly the same.

I stayed.

I believed.

I gave you everything I had

and borrowed strength from parts of me

that were already empty.

And still—

I failed.

Not because I didn’t care enough,

But because my love

wasn’t the kind that could save us.

Because I am trying with my whole soul

still wasn’t enough to keep you here.

After all of it, after breaking myself down just to keep us standing, I stood in the ruins—knowing I couldn't save us. That truth will always feel like my fault.
