I Finally Met MY MAN On TWO CENTS. Final Part

The part I didn't want to tell you

There is something I left out.

Not because I forgot.

Because I wasn't sure I should tell you.

When I wrote Part 1, I said I had found my man.

When you asked how we met, I told you about the conversations.

The late nights.

The arguments.

The disappearing.

The coming back.

The little things he remembered.

And that one moment that made me realise I had become attached.

You believed me.

Of course you did.

Why wouldn't you?

Everything I told you was true.

That is what makes this difficult.

Because the first time I realised something was wrong, it wasn't because of him.

It was because of me.

I was going through our old conversations one night.

Not looking for anything.

Just scrolling.

Then I noticed something.

A sentence.

I remembered it differently.

I went back.

Read it again.

Then I checked another conversation.

Then another.

And suddenly, I wasn't smiling anymore.

Because the things I remembered him saying…

weren't always said to me.

Some were.

Some weren't.

Some had happened exactly as I remembered them.

Others had happened in places I couldn't explain.

I sat there staring at my screen.

For the first time, I asked myself:

"Who exactly am I talking about?"

I tried to answer.

I couldn't.

So I did something ridiculous.

I opened Part 1.

I read it again.

Then Part 2.

And that's when I saw it.

The mistake.

Not in the story.

In the question.

Everyone had been asking:

"Who is this man?"

But nobody had asked:

"How many men are there?"

Lol😂. It's funny right?

I laughed too.

Then I stopped laughing.

Because suddenly, every detail made sense.

The person who made me laugh.

The person who challenged me.

The person who remembered something.

The person who made me return.

The person who made me stay up late.

They weren't the same person.

I had taken pieces of different people…

and without realizing it,

stitched them into one man.

One face.

One personality.

One relationship.

One story.

A man who never actually existed.

And somehow…

you helped me create him.

Because every time you read a line and imagined his face,

you completed another piece.

Every time you guessed a name,

you gave him an identity.

Every time you asked for Part 2,

you gave the story another reason to continue.

And now here we are.

Three parts later.

You know what he says.

You know what he does.

You know how he makes me feel.

You know how we met.

You know how we became close.

You know almost everything about him.

Except his name.

Because I never gave you one.

I couldn't.

There was never one.

And that's the funniest part.

I didn't find my man on Two Cents.

I wrote him there.

Piece by piece.

Comment by comment.

Thought by thought.

And you people,

with your guesses, theories and detective work

helped me give him life.

So,

😂

You can finally breathe.

Please stop investigating

Abeg, carry relationship matter go one side. 😭

But honestly…

this is where the joke ends.

Because underneath all the drama, there is something I actually meant.

I have met some incredible people here.

People whose names I may only know from a username.

People I've never sat beside.

Never shared a meal with.

Never had a face-to-face conversation with.

Yet somehow, their words have found me.

Some have made me laugh.

Some have challenged my thinking.

Some have taught me something.

Some have given me the courage to write when I didn't think I had anything worth saying.

And some…

have simply shown up.

That's what I love about Two Cents.

It isn't just the app.

It is the people who keep filling it with pieces of themselves.

The writers.

The readers.

The commenters.

The silent ones.

The loud ones.

The people who drop one sentence and disappear.

The people who write something so good that you have to put your phone down and breathe.

😂

You people are the reason this place feels alive.

So, Two Cents…

thank you for giving our thoughts somewhere to meet.

And to every person who has ever read one of my insights, dropped a comment, challenged an idea, laughed at my madness, or simply stayed long enough to finish reading,

thank you.

And to everybody who asked me:

“Bolu, who is this man?”

Now you know.

Or perhaps......

you don't.

Because maybe that's what a good story does.

It makes you fall for someone who was never there.

And then, just when you think you've reached the end,

you realise you were part of the story too.

Maybe I didn't find a man here after all.

But I found something better.

A room full of people I had never met, somehow making me feel less alone.

And perhaps…

that's the real love story.

THE END. ❤️
