Juju - Screams, Thunder and Flames part Two
<p>*Ps* I don't know hausa neither do I know anyone who does so I just used Google translate so sorry if the hausa here isn't proper.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In pain, the masquerade dropped David, whose body had suddenly recovered from the fatigue.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>He ran and helped Wale up, supporting him as they both tried to make a break for David’s house.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“David, how you take do that one o?” Wale said, panting heavily, trying to push through the pain.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“I know?! Make we reach my house first before we reason am,” David replied, trying to focus on getting home.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The masquerades unfortunately had recovered and started to aggressively chase the both of them.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Omo… shey this guys no go die?” Wale screamed into the air.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Just as the masquerades were about to catch up, someone stepped in front of them, tackling four of them with just his arms.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>David looked back to see the two masquerades still chasing them and—</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“DAREY!” David shouted his cousin’s name, who had fended off the four masquerades in a single blow.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Darey shot a look of death straight at David, which made him run faster because he knew he was probably going to receive the same treatment if Darey caught up as well.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Just as they were about to reach the gate, the masquerades caught up, blocking their path.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The two of them begun to fuse.</p><p>The air became more chill and dry.</p><p><br/></p><p>And an unnerving aura emminated from them.</p><p><br/></p><p>And formed what David could only describe as an evil spirit.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Darey tried to intervene but was held back by an unknown force.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The spirit put its attention back on David and Wale.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>As its stare met theirs, they felt an incredible amount of pressure push down against them.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>A crushing force that seemed to be infusing the both of them into the ground.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Both of them were beginning to black out.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>.......</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>A few minutes earlier.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Inside the Olubunmi abode.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“DAVID! DAVID!!!” Temi shouted into the phone as she heard David’s screams cry out.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Oh Jesus, what am I going to do? Why haven’t Darey and Adeola said they’re almost home, but those boys are clearly in trouble now?”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Temi paced back and forth.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“I can’t go help them on my own.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Temi fell to the ground, her legs shaking.</p><p>“Why am I always so scared? I practically can’t do anything.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Just then Temi remembered something her grandma once told her.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“If you or anyone in the family is ever in danger and truly feel like you can’t do anything to help, as long as your grandpa is around, just wake him up, you hear?”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Temi hesitated at first.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>How would her grandpa help in this situation?</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>But she shook her doubt away.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Her grandmother was a strong, smart and fearless woman even at her old age.</p><p>If she truly thought my grandpa could protect her at his old age…</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Temi patted her grandfather on the shoulder.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And said in Hausa,</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Kaka wani ne ke kai wa David hari a kofar gidan.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In English,</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Grandpa, someone is attacking David in front of the house.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>............</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>A slash echoed through the street as the world seemed to shift back to normal.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>The masquerades all started to fade away as well as the spirit that came from them as well.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Standing on top of their fading remains was Grandpa Olubunmi, sheathing a blade back into his cane.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>He then looked at both David and Wale on the floor and laughed before starting to slowly walk back into the compound.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>He paused and looked at Temi, who was hiding behind the gate.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Ba za ku taimake ni ba?”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In English,</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Won’t you help me?”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Temi immediately responded by helping him back inside.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>David and Wale, tired, still on the floor and about to pass out as Darey walked in front of them and squatted.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Ewure,” Darey says as both of them pass out.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Not knowing what exactly they have triggered.</p><p><br/></p><p>.................</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In Oyo State.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Oyo town.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>In a building, a meeting was being held in which members of the Olubunmi family were in attendance, seated around a wide black table with other distinguished individuals facing a woman seated at the front.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Adeola just called me, David was attacked this evening" Davids mom said as she sighed and looked at her mother in law.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>"It was bound to happen" Grandma Olubunmi commented.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“It seems like those spirits are becoming more bold in their activities,” the woman said, sitting in a way that makes her face less visible.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>As she leaned forward and her face was slowly revealed, Grandma Olubunmi made a comment in her head.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Looking as prestigious and glamorous as she did years ago.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Mrs Yeye Oro came into view with her usual unearthing smile.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>“Let’s put an end to those activities, shall we?”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Thank you so much for reading.</p>
