Kemi and the Golden morning

In the bustling city of Lagos, Kemi woke up to the sound of her mother's cooking, the aroma of jollof rice and fried plantains filling the air. She stretched her slender frame and smiled, feeling grateful for another day in this vibrant city. As she dressed, her phone buzzed with a message from her best friend, Funmi: "Meet me at the beach at sunrise?"

Kemi's heart skipped a beat. She had been waiting for this moment for weeks. She quickly finished her breakfast and rushed to the beach, the warm sand between her toes as she spotted Funmi, camera in hand.

"Today's the day," Funmi squealed, as Kemi joined her. "We're going to capture the most golden sunrise Lagos has ever seen!"

As they waited, the sky transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors – pinks, oranges, and yellows – until the sun burst forth, a fiery ball of gold. Kemi and Funmi clicked away, their cameras snapping photos of the breathtaking scene.

As the morning wore on, they strolled along the beach, laughing and chatting. Kemi felt alive, the salty air and warm sun on her skin a reminder of the beauty of life.

Suddenly, Funmi stopped, pointing to a group of fishermen repairing their nets. "Look, Kemi, the real heroes of Lagos."

Kemi watched, mesmerized, as the fishermen worked together, their weathered faces creased with smiles. One of them, an elderly man with a kind face, caught her eye and beckoned her closer.

"Welcome, young one," he said, offering her a net. "Join us, and let's catch the morning tide!"

Kemi hesitated, but Funmi pushed her forward. Together, they helped the fishermen repair their nets, the morning sun beating down on them.

As they finished, the old man handed Kemi a small, golden fish. "A gift for the morning's magic," he said, his eyes twinkling.

Kemi beamed, feeling the fish's cool scales in her hand. She knew this moment would stay with her forever – the golden morning, the warm sun, and the kindness of strangers.

As they walked away, Funmi turned to her, grinning. "Best morning ever, right?"

Kemi nodded, her heart full. "Definitely, Funmi. Definitely."
