LET IT GO THEY'RE DEAD.

There’s this new AI floating around TikTok, right? The one that lets you video call your dead loved ones like they never left. And honestly, the first time I saw it, my heart did this tiny flip like, “wait… I could actually talk to them again?” For a second it felt tempting, almost magical, like grief finally found a loophole.

But the more I thought about it, the more something in my chest tightened. Because that kind of thing… it blurs lines that were never meant to be crossed. It feels comforting at first, but then you realize it’s not really them it’s just a shadow wearing their voice. A ghost made of code.

And deep down, we know we’re supposed to let go at some point. Not erase them, not forget them but let the pain breathe, let the memory settle instead of trying to resurrect what life already carried away. There’s something eerie almost creepy about pretending someone is still here just because a program can mimic their face.

It’s like trying to hold smoke in your hands. It looks real for a moment, then disappears, leaving you emptier than before.

Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for ourselves is accept the silence, not try to fill it with an illusion. Some goodbyes aren’t meant to be undone, even by technology that thinks it can play GOD.
