Love and life

Chapter one

Hello Life…

The plan is very simple, and quite straight forward, find the love of my life at age 23, be engaged at 24 and get married at 25. Easy right? And that’s how it’s gonna be. My name Ifeyinwa, the last born and last daughter to Chief and Mrs. Eze and I intend to follow my parents footsteps. You see, they once lived in Nigeria until one day, they got tired living in Nigeria and decided it was time for a change. It all started when they met at the university. It was love at first sight, they fell in love and got married. How old were they? To be honest, I don’t really know. Mummy and daddy don’t really talk about it. They packed their stuff, sold the little they had and off they went to start a new life in New York and they had five children and so far, 12 grandkids. All my siblings, Uche, Blossom, Obi, Lisa are much older than me. They were married so long ago, I can barely remember. I on the other hand was the surprise baby so while all my siblings are far from home with their husbands and wife, I’m still here, wondering when prince charming will find me. They all had the same magical love story like my parents and living happily with their partners, well, except me. Right from when I was a child, I could see just how much daddy loved mummy. He would loose her hair for her, cook with her, help her clean up and that’s what I want, someone who makes me feel special with the little things that matter but I want him to show a bit more affection. I mean, my dad is cool and all but I have never seen him hold my mother’s hands, kiss her, ofcourse it will be gross but still, they should do it. Mum always makes his favorite meals and gives him a hug once in a while but I think that’s how their generation shows affection. Anyway, back to me. So I am in my last year in the university and to be frank, I have never really dated anyone. All the guys I happen to meet don’t just check my boxes you know… it’s like man I am looking for can only be found in SunshineMoh’s books. I wish I could yank them out and live happily ever after with him. But there might be a change, I am going to dedicate my final to not just graduating but finding him, the love of my life cos in the end, Mohammed went to the mountain right?

Anyway, my check list

o He must be handsome

o He must be tall

o He must be rich

o He must love my parents and siblings

o He must be generous

o He must have nice teeth.

o He ass mustn’t be big

o His should have a killer smile.

o He should know how to play sports.

o He cannot have bad breath.

I think we can scratch out the nice teeth cos why would he have money and not fix his teeth if they were bad?

So I can scratch this out ~He must have good teeth~

Perfect!

So I was on the dining, having breakfast with my mum. When I heard a knock on the door. My dad was in the living room watching the game so stood up to get the door but my dad stops me.

“I’ll get it… just finish your breakfast love.” He said. He always calls me love and calls mummy, mummy Ifeyinwa.

The person knocked on the door for the second time before my dad gets there.

“I’m coming! I’m coming! You want to break my door? He opened it and stood there in shock.

“Daddy! Who is it?” I asked him but he didn’t reply. I could hear a footsteps coming towards the kitchen so I turn around and see a woman, who looks oddly like me but still different, looking at my mother and smiling. Then she said

“Ütụtụ ọma, Nne"

Monthly Score
The Top Monthly Contributors ranking is a monthly metric indicating how users respond to your posts, not just how many you publish.

1
How strong your best post is —
Your highest-scoring post this month carries the most weight. One great post can take you far.
2
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
We also look at the average score of all your posts. If your work keeps getting good reactions, you get a boost.
3
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
Posting more helps — but only a little.
Extra posts give a small bonus that grows slowly, so quality always matters more than quantity.
In simple terms:
A great post beats many ignored posts
Consistently engaging posts beat one lucky hit
Spamming low-engagement posts won't help
Tips, comments, and upvotes from others matter most
This ranking is designed to reward
Thoughtful, high-quality posts
Real engagement from the community
Consistency over time — without punishing you for posting again
The Top Monthly Contributors leaderboard reflects what truly resonates, not just who posts the most.
