CHAPTER THREE

WOW LIFE...

You know, I hate it when she does this. Instead of Sisi to just answer me, she will leave me to wonder and guess. I’m dying to know what is going on and why daddy and mummy hid the fact that they have a secret child. Like, how old is she? Is she older than Uche? Like who is this woman?

As I sit in class, I go through the message she sent to me,

“Don’t worry! I am coming to the house this evening, we’ll talk then.” She can easily tell me what she wants to tell me now. Anyway, I have to cancel my plans with my friends this evening because I must see this whole thing through.

I’m sure I was lost in my head for a long time cos I had no ideas the class was over until my friend Tasha tapped me.

“girl? Where are you? Who exactly are you dreaming about?”

I look at her so confused at first then I see the students descending to the door.

“Sorry, today has been… a lot.” I tell her as I pick my books from the table.

“That’s fine.” Tasha said.

“So tell me, who is he and are we still up for bowling this evening?”

“I cant. I have a family emergency and I have to be at home.”

“Oh! What’s up?”

“If I tell you, you wouldn’t believe me”.

“wow! Is it that bad?”

“Yes o!”

We head out together and head to the next class together. When the day was over, I gave her a hug and I headed home.

I’m not gonna lie, the only thing I could think of was how glad I am to be home. So finally, it’s time to get to the bottom of everything.

I walk into the house quietly. But before I could even open the door, I can hear my parents voice, my brother and my sister, all coming from the kitchen. My dad I go to the kitchen window first and watch them. My dad literally stormed out of the kitchen. This was quite strange because I have never heard my dad raise his voice…like ever. So I walk in anyway because I am beginning to feel like a thief or something. The moment they realize I am at home, everyone is suddenly quiet. All eyes are on me… I see Lisa sitting on the stool and my mother at one corner of the room, her head bent on the kitchen table. Uche is behind her, gently touching her shoulders.

“What’s going on? I ask as I drop my bag and place it on the table.

“Sisi! I could hear your voices before I even walked in. I’m pretty sure the whole neighbors could hear it too.” But she didn’t reply me.

“What’s with all the yelling? I ask again.

“Where is Ada.” The whole room was already tense but just mentioning her name made the tension so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

“Where’s my dad?” He was the only one not in the room. Since no one is answering me, I decide to go his room and look for him.

“leave him alone!” Obi said

“Why?” I ask

“Because I said so…”

“Well, you are not my father or my mother so don’t come here and boss me around. Now if you don’t mind, I am going upstairs to go and look for my daddy ”

“See this small gir…”

“Obi Stop!”

Blossom said.

“Ifeyinwa, you are being rude.”

“Sorry Sister B. I just don’t understand why Obi is talking to me like that. Like I am literally just coming back and he is already transferring aggression to me.”

“ Obi doesn’t want you to talk to daddy right now because he has decided to do something silly.” She said.

“And what would that be?” I asked.

“Daddy filed for a divorce today”. She said

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.

rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
