Manhandled in Black and White

The beautiful thing about chess is the variety in skill levels and the ability or ways that an upset can happen to one of a higher skill set who is sure he has the match in the bag.

I rarely play physical games, mostly because of my personal lack of a board and opponents.

So this being my first physical chess game this month, the perspective switch was blinding (literally).

As one can see, online you have somewhat like an aerial POV of the board, you can see and predict moves easier.

Well for me, in my match yesterday, it wasn't until 6 moves had passed that I was able to adjust.

In those 6 moves, I had missed a beautiful blunder my opponent had made, and I had made 3 scary blunders myself.

I was better than my opponent.

I knew it, he knew it too.

Yet, the change of perspective and the missed opportunities affected my mindset.

I made numerous mistakes, so many mistakes that I had to just start laughing.

It was an embarrassing defeat as you can see from the header picture above.

The next picture posted is from another lichess game where I made mistakes too.

I want to blame it on a damaged mindset from my physical game but naaa

This was just me being stupid 😂😭

It's even funnier, because I think I saw all or at least 10 of all blunders he made, then I went and made my own blunder in turn😭😂😂

It was a disheartening match, one that after he checkmated I screamed and then slept 😭.

Taking one or two days rest and going back in there.

I'm planning on growing my ELO to 900-950 before September, so we have no time to waste.

Here's a link to the lichess match Incase you want to watch my foolishness in 4D😂

lichess.org/y7VCESIH/black
