Midnight breakdown

It was a dark night in Lagos, around 2 AM. The streets were empty, except for the occasional taxi speeding by. I was driving home from a friend's party when my car suddenly broke down in the middle of Ikorodu Road.

I got out to check, but it was clear – the engine was dead. I grabbed my phone to call a mechanic, but the battery was almost dead too. Just 1% left.

As I stood there, a black SUV pulled up. A guy in a hoodie stepped out. "Need help?" he asked.

I hesitated, but he seemed okay, so I said yeah. He checked the car, said it's the alternator. "I can give you a ride to a nearby mechanic," he offered.

I hopped in. The streets were getting sketchier. He turned into a narrow alley. "Shortcut," he said.

Suddenly, he stopped the car. "Wait here," he said, jumped out, and disappeared into shadows.

Minutes passed. I got anxious. Then I heard footsteps...

To be continued 😱
