5. Nigeria has qualified for the World Cup 6 times while Ghana has just qualified for the 4th time this year, Outrunning Nigeria with an away goal edge in the last concluded World Cup qualifier. Ghana has gone furthest reaching the quarterfinals at the 2010 World Cup edition in South Africa.
6. Both nations have emerged victors at the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Nigeria has emerged as the victor 6 times and Ghana has conquered twice.
7. Ghana won the first-ever African gold medal in football in 1992 meanwhile Nigeria went two steps ahead by winning gold in the 1996 games.
