PART ONE: THE BEGINNING – MASTER ADE AND HIS TWO SHADOWS
<p>In the days when the <strong>Old Oyo Empire</strong> still breathed like a living giant, when drums spoke louder than town criers and wisdom was more valuable than gold, there lived a man called Ade.</p><p><br/></p><p>But nobody called him just <strong>Ade</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>They called him <strong>Master Ade.</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Some said he could silence quarrels with one proverb.</p><p>Others swore he once settled a land dispute using only kolanut and common sense.</p><p><br/></p><p>Master Ade moved from village to village teaching wisdom:</p><p><br/></p><blockquote><em>“A man who runs faster than his destiny will still arrive tired.”<br/></em><em>“The mouth that eats alone will one day chew shame.”</em></blockquote><p><br/></p><p>Behind him always were two men.</p><p><br/></p><p>One was <strong>Musa</strong>, a tall, broad-shouldered Hausa man with a calm face and a dagger he polished more than his sandals.</p><p><br/></p><p>The other was <strong>Emeka</strong>, an energetic Igbo man whose eyes calculated profit even inside prayer.</p><p><br/></p><p>Where Master Ade went, they followed.</p><p><br/></p><p>When Master Ade spoke, Musa nodded seriously like a palace guard.</p><p>When Master Ade spoke, Emeka whispered, “Master, this wisdom… if we package am well ehn, we fit monetize am.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Master Ade would sigh.</p><p>“Musa, you see your brother?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Musa would answer, “Walahi Master, this Emeka no dey fear God.”</p><p><br/></p><p>They slept in villagers’ huts, ate from strangers’ pots, and sometimes received gifts.</p><p><br/></p><p>Musa valued <strong>loyalty</strong>.</p><p>Emeka valued… <strong>opportunity</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>At night, when crickets sang backup vocals, Master Ade taught them secretly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Two of you will walk different paths one day,” he said.</p><p><br/></p><p>Emeka laughed. “Master abeg, no spoil night. Make we sleep.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Musa held his dagger tighter.</p><p><br/></p><p>And somewhere in the shadows of Old Oyo…</p><p>wisdom was beginning to offend foolishness.</p><p><br/></p><p style="text-align: right; "><em>To be continued…</em></p>
