REALITY OR NOT?

I woke up at 4:00 AM and chugged a cup of coffee to start the day. Since I had a lot of work to do, I decided to make a list.

Step 1: make brunch.

Step 2: talk to Joey.

Step 3: check mails.

Step 4: step 4?…

“What should be in step 4?,” I asked myself as I bit the cover of the cheap pen in between my index and middle finger. Not being in the right frame of mind was not in my agenda.

Just as I was thinking of what to write, I sighed, then, I saw something in the corner of my eye. When I turned to look at it, it wasn't there. The anxiety in me spiked.

“Never mind, let's just scratch that,” I thought as I gave up on writing the fourth part. Forcing myself to reality, I tried to clean the house.

I heard the sound of someone shuffling around and I could promise I saw a shadow.

I took a deep breath and poured myself another cup of coffee; my third one in 8 hours. My breathing was becoming erratic. Maybe surviving on just coffee and popcorn was messing with my brain.

“Time to call Joey,” I thought.

I dialled the number and the receiver answered on the last ring.

“Hey Joey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uhm, I guess so. Yep. Wait, let me check,” I said simultaneously as I tiptoed to yell “Chloe.” “She's probably upstairs,” I told Joey. I put the phone on speaker and continued chatting half-heartedly.

“Did you hear that?,” I asked him, trying to listen carefully to the sound I heard.

“Sorry Joey, I thought I heard something. No, never mind, it's nothing I guess.”

Suddenly, the connection was lost. I couldn't hear anything on the other end. I had something important to say and I'm pretty sure Joey did too. He was just about to tell me something! Then, the line cut off.

“Maybe I need to sleep,” I muttered.

I picked up my phone and dragged myself upstairs.

I opened the door slowly and staggered inside. Then, I saw something or someone, in the room, our room, holding Chloe's phone.

It wasn't Chloe.

Welcome back! What do you think?. Did you like it?. If it wasn't Chloe, who was it?

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
