<p>Being a man,</p><p>Always felt too loud for me.</p><p>Thoughts I never said out loud</p><p>Kept pacing across my room,</p><p>Reminding me of the days</p><p>When I didn’t have to pretend strength,</p><p>When being weak didn’t feel like a sin.</p><p><br/></p><p>I won’t lie now, I still miss the times</p><p>When tears didn’t feel like failure,</p><p>When exhaustion didn’t taste like guilt,</p><p>And silence wasn’t mistaken for anger.</p><p>When I could breathe without feeling</p><p>Like I had to carry the whole world</p><p>Just to be seen as enough.</p><p><br/></p><p>I struggled to not crumble</p><p>Whenever life leaned in too close,</p><p>Because somehow, somewhere,</p><p>“Be a man” became a cage.</p><p>And now all I remember about growing up</p><p>Is how responsibility felt like a storm,</p><p>And I was expected to stand tall</p><p>Even when my knees shook beneath me.</p><p><br/></p><p>Take me back to the days</p><p>When boys were allowed to just be boys—</p><p>Not shields, not anchors, not walls.</p><p>Take me back to the moments</p><p>When vulnerability wasn’t forbidden,</p><p>And softness wasn’t mocked.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because truth is…</p><p>Some nights, being a man hurts in ways</p><p>Words can barely hold.</p><p>And I just wish, for once,</p><p>I didn’t have to pretend.</p>
