*EPISODE 13

"Tensions and Twists"*

The school hallways felt tighter, like the walls had mouths and ears. Since the unexpected kiss, things between Deniem and Aisha had taken an awkward turn. They still exchanged glances, sometimes even soft smiles, but neither dared to talk about what happened.

Deniem sat with his crew during lunch, distractedly picking at his food while Emmanuel and Jerry argued about who could freestyle better. His mind was stuck on one thing — her. Aisha. The way her lips trembled right before the kiss, the way her eyes widened... it wasn’t just a mistake. It meant something. Or did it?

Aisha, on the other hand, sat two tables away, pretending to be fully immersed in her friend's conversation about upcoming exams. But her mind was on Deniem. That kiss haunted her — in a good and terrifying way. She liked him, more than she was willing to admit, but she also feared what it would do to her friendships, her reputation, and mostly, her heart.

Later that day, a group project forced the two of them to be in the same library section. Their group mates were missing, leaving them alone. Silence. Pages flipped. Pens scratched.

Then Deniem spoke. "Aisha... about that day..."

She closed her book. "Don’t. Not here."

"Then where?" he asked, voice low, but firm.

She sighed, gathering her things. "By the school garden. 4 o'clock."

When they met later, the air was thick with unspoken feelings. They sat on the same bench, but the space between them felt like miles.

"I didn't plan it," Deniem began.

"I know."

"I don't regret it though," he said, eyes fixed on hers.

That caught her off guard. Her heart raced. "I didn’t either... but Deniem, this isn't a storybook. We have real lives, real consequences."

He nodded. "I get that. But I need to know — is this real to you, or was it just a moment?"

She looked down at her hands, hesitant. Then quietly said, "It was real."

And just like that, the tension cracked — but not into comfort. Into more complexity. Because now, feelings were confirmed. And reality, with all its pressure and expectations, was waiting right outside that garden gate.

To be continued...

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
