I was shocked by the volume of hair that fell off my comb as I combed my hair the other day. I thought to myself, if this much hair sheds every time I comb, shouldn’t I be bald already?

Thank God, hair grows.

When I was in secondary school, I used to visit the barber’s shop at the beginning of every term. As the clipper cut through my thick, black curls and the strands fell from my head to my shoulders, then to the floor, I would wonder why they couldn’t be joined back to my head. Why can’t we just fix them back? Maybe a camel could pass through the eye of a needle someday, but shed hair can never be joined back to the head again.

The good thing, however, is that hair grows, so I didn’t need to worry about reattaching what was gone.

Just like hair that’s been cut or shed can’t be undone, events and situations in our past can’t be undone either, they already happened.

But just as hair grows, we too can choose to grow from the past.

Holding on to the past is like clutching your shed hair, hoping to fix it back. The past may have been painful or even wonderful but either way, it’s behind now.

Learn from it and grow.

Grow past the pain, the guilt, the limitations, and the agony. There's always a new season of love, forgiveness and beauty when we choose to put the past behind.

Growth requires effort and patience.

Choosing not to let your past define your future takes courage, and sometimes, there will be pruning. Pruning might mean dropping old

attitudes, forgiving, or letting go of anger. Effort could look like talking to a counselor, reading a book, praying, or simply being still.

Growth brings renewed strength, just as Samson’s hair grew and he regained his power. At every phase of life, we must continue to grow.

Don’t remain stuck at one point.

Allow your hair—and yourself—to grow.

— 2020

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
