📍How serious is the issue of obesity?

Well, The World Obesity Atlas 2022, published by the World Obesity Federation, predicts that one billion people globally, including 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men, will be living with obesity by 2030. The numbers in Africa are expected to triple by 2030; from 8 million (2010) to 27 million men (2030) and 26 million (2010) to 74 million women (2030).

Asia and Africa are home to nearly three-quarters of all overweight children worldwide. In Africa, the number of overweight children under 5 has increased by nearly 24% since 2000, and almost half of children under 5 who were overweight or obese in 2019 live in Asia.

So, how serious is the issue of obesity? You'll agree with me that it is a matter of urgency.

📍What must we do?

The simple answer?. Lose fat. The complex? Lose fat easily, naturally and efficiently.

📍What are the benefits of fat loss for an obese/overweight person?

There are a number of benefits to losing fat, especially for someone who is obese. Losing fat can improve cardiovascular health, lower blood pressure, and reduce the risk of developing diabetes. It can also improve quality of life by increasing energy levels, improving mood, and reducing the risk of depression. In addition, fat loss can lead to a reduction in joint pain and an improvement in sleep quality. Finally, it can lead to an increased lifespan.

📍How can we lose fat?

Fat loss is easy, once you master the art. It is a slow process, when done naturally. Skipping meals, intermittent fasting, drinking "slimming" teas, going on weight loss diets, doing more cardio amongst others usually exacerbate weight gain.

What then can we do?.

Take my word for it, we can lose fat by reducing sugar and calorie intake drastically, doing more movements i.e exercising for at least 30 minutes per day(walking or running may be your "easiest" option), drinking plenty of water(about 2 litres or less per day), sleeping well(6-8 hours daily), eating more fibre , protein and vegetables and by controlling our portions(using smaller plates). Eating healthy, nutient-dense foods and engaging in regular physical activities are the best ways to attain long-term, sustainable fat loss.

📍What have we learnt so far?

Obesity is common and the rate is increasing rapidly. We all can attain fat loss although at different rates. We can improve our cardiovascular health, lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes amongst many others through fat loss. We can lose fat by eating healthy, inexpensive, nutritious foods and getting regular physical activity.

Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.

Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.

Monthly Score
The Top Monthly Contributors ranking is a monthly metric indicating how users respond to your posts, not just how many you publish.
We look at three main things:
1
How strong your best post is —
Your highest-scoring post this month carries the most weight. One great post can take you far.
2
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
We also look at the average score of all your posts. If your work keeps getting good reactions, you get a boost.
3
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
Posting more helps — but only a little.
Extra posts give a small bonus that grows slowly, so quality always matters more than quantity.
In simple terms:
A great post beats many ignored posts
Consistently engaging posts beat one lucky hit
Spamming low-engagement posts won't help
Tips, comments, and upvotes from others matter most
This ranking is designed to reward
Thoughtful, high-quality posts
Real engagement from the community
Consistency over time — without punishing you for posting again
The Top Monthly Contributors leaderboard reflects what truly resonates, not just who posts the most.
