THE BLACKENED HEART
<p>The cruelty of the world shows</p><p>When my precious gem was taken from me.</p><p>The life I once knew shattered</p><p>Before my eyes could even understand.</p><p><br/></p><p>My heart is filled with black ink,</p><p>Staining the soul since my treasure passed.</p><p>Where others see flowers in colour,</p><p>I see a black bloom—</p><p>Dying in vain.</p><p><br/></p><p>I see black in every colour.</p><p>Even the clouds</p><p>Mirror the darkness in my heart.</p><p><br/></p><p>My precious treasure</p><p>Was the only thing</p><p>That made me see colour.</p><p><br/></p><p>But when they perished,</p><p>My heart was drowned</p><p>In black ink</p><p>That never fades.</p><p><br/></p><p>Now I see clearly—</p><p>The cruelty of the world.</p><p><br/></p><p>Losing one’s treasure</p><p>Leaves more than emptiness.</p><p><br/></p><p>And the question that lingers—</p><p>Quiet, but heavy—</p><p><br/></p><p>Will I ever</p><p>Live again?</p>
