THE FLAVOUR OF LIFE🌼.

A friend recently shared how overwhelmed she had been lately.

A playful part of me had a funny song as a response, dancing in my head.

I thought about recording it, sending it, letting it float to her.

And then I stopped.

Because our friendship speaks humour differently, and this moment called for care, not impulse.

And in that pause, I saw something clearly:

If it were another friend, I would not have hesitated.

I would have sung, laughed, added more songs…

and then, eventually, we would talk seriously about the issue.

That pause taught me something simple: people experience us differently.

Sometimes, when you see a side of a friend you’ve never known, it feels like a shock.

You pause and wonder, Is this really them?

But maybe they’re not pretending.

Maybe you just haven’t met them in this way.

Another person has.

Another relationship has.

Another season has.

We all carry different expressions of ourselves.

Different ways of showing up.

Different faces of the same truth.

Some see every shade of us.

Some see only fragments.

Some friends notice your laughter.

Others notice your silence.

Some partners see your quiet strength.

Others hear only your words.

Even siblings experience their parents differently.

Even the same friend, years apart, may now know someone new.

The same person, at a different time, is never quite the same as before.

Experience is not static.

Life shifts you.

Shapes you.

Moves you.

And people meet us in the middle of that motion.

Every relationship, every friendship, has its own flavour.

Sometimes you move between flavours.

Sometimes, every shade of a person begins to unfold.

Sometimes, some parts remain unseen.

And that is okay.

This is life.

Shades.

Colors.

Flavours.

Layers.

Different ways of being seen.

Without these flavours, life would be flat.

Predictable.

Dull.

It’s the differences, the surprises, the unfolding, that make life rich.

That make it beautiful.

That is the real flavour of living.

Whatever flavour of people you get to experience, notice it. Savor it. Appreciate it.

Every encounter is part of their story and yours.

Who gets to taste the full flavour of you today?

Which flavour are you sharing, and which ones are you discovering in others?
