The Lion of Veronya III: The Birth of a Legend

When Murtala returned to the scene, he found only Balogun and his beast both dead and drenched in their blood.

Adinoyi had slain Balogun and his beast and then fled, or so he thought. He descended unto the bridge and dismounted the large bat. He walked towards Balogun's corpse and looked down with disdain

“How pitiful” he said.

Adinoyi looked on from underneath the lizard, hiding within its guts. Slowly he emerged with _Black Roar_ in hand, his body drenched in the beast's blood, tip toeing his way towards the bat. Unlike the reptilian type beasts, the bat had no armored skin to protect it from Adinoyi's sword. Before the bat could react, Adinoyi's thrust had pierced up the beast's heart and it died after a brief futile struggle. Murtala was alerted by the beast's frantic struggle and drew his blade.

“How dare you?” he yelled furiously. He charged at Adinoyi blinded by rage and swung his blade with mighty force. Adinoyi raised _Black Roar_ to halt his blade's advance. Black lion was at ease; Murtala's swing proved weaker than the iron bender's mace. The ease of Adinoyi's parries fueled Murtala's fury. He swung recklessly, creating an opening which Adinoyi gladly took and sliced through his stomach, cleaving him in two. His upper body fell first and his torso soon followed, his guts spilling out and blood gushing forth.
