The Moving Man

There is a man I have come to know.

Not because he is famous.

Not because he has arrived.

But because I see him every morning, shoulders squared against a world that seems determined to test his resolve.

He has no place he truly calls home yet, yet every reason to stop trying.

The world watches him closely. It judges his mistakes with a magnifying glass and celebrates his victories only after they become impossible to ignore.

"Oga, help me na."

The requests never stop.

People stretch out their hands as though he planted a money tree somewhere behind his house, as though his struggles disappeared the moment he found work.

But they do not see the cost.

They call him a working man.

I call him a moving man.

For he is a servant to a vision he cannot yet touch. A man chasing something larger than comfort. A man determined to sweep poverty from beneath his feet, not just for himself, but for those who will come after him.

The moving man is not motivated by applause.

He is driven by quieter things.

Purpose.

Responsibility.

Legacy.

His energy is precious, so he spends it carefully. He moves with urgency, not because he is chasing wealth, but because he is trying to understand the game well enough to teach it. To build it. To repeat it a thousand times over.

At this stage, he is rarely attractive to the world.

He is rough around the edges. Unfinished. Uncelebrated.

While others are performing success, he is studying it.

Building in silence.

Learning in silence.

Failing in silence.

The road he travels is not safe.

It is filled with uncertainty, disappointment, and the occasional heartbreak that leaves scars no one can see.

Yet he keeps moving.

Because he has learned a simple truth:

The race does not belong to the loudest.

It belongs to those who keep walking when the excitement is gone.

And perhaps that is the irony of it all.

There are no true winners waiting at the finish line.

Only travellers.

Some stop too soon.

Some lose their way.

Some keep going.

But the moving man understands something many do not:

Life is not measured by where the road ends.

It is measured by the courage to keep moving while you are still on it.
