I know the perception is that northern Nigeria is one backward entity, populated by blood thirsty fanatics in mud made houses, malnourished and uncultured. While some of thjs assumption are true like the mud houses part, but that is because the soil is literally clay with beautiful sand formation. So of course all our architecture is going to be influenced by that

But let me tell you about the pros.

Northern Nigeria has so much food, grains, vegetables and livestock. that's why most rural communities are far for starving because they produce so much. You really haven't eaten good, clean and affordable food except you've stayed in the north.

Also the typical northerner is simplistic in nature not as a result of lack of ambition but out the simple knowledge of the frailty of life and the blessedness of humility. That's why you can trust "a true Aboki" not to exploit you or take advantage . You ask for direction and nobody is directing you towards harm, you ask for help and it comes with so much intent and honesty.

Actions like this comes from a strong belief that God wills everything, so worrying is pointless and unproductive.

Spiritually, the awareness of life and it's philosophy is brilliant from a Northerner even without formal education, that's why even when you hear a child speak in hausa in true self expression, the tone and power takes the embodiment of an old soul. So we don't play.

However the north is brutal, truly. some of us have been forced to become adults from a very young age due to the harsh experiences of life and trueness of human nature.

However I'll be lying to say that there are no bad eggs amongst us just like in every other place and culture, just don't stereotype all of us.

But before you go ahead and hate, come put your foot in these shoes and if you're not bold enough to dare, count your blessings.

We are a conglomeration of so many different people who share one thing in common "zuchiya" , be it a northerner in Kaduna Brono , Taraba, Kano or Niger and all our environs.

We love Nigeriya and we are not the ones causing all this chaos. The worth of Allah will visit and reveal the faces of these cowards who are no different from animals to go after kids and women.

There is a dark cloud above us at the moment but this too shall pass.

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
