THE PEOPLE I THOUGHT WOULD STAY
<p>I thought some people would stay,</p><p>believing they would always have a place in my life.</p><p>I didn't know that sometimes, wanting someone to stay isn't enough.</p><p><br/></p><p>I lost friends I thought would grow old with me.</p><p>Not every friendship ended with a fight; some simply became unfamiliar.</p><p>And sometimes, I still wonder when we stopped being us.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then there was you, the person I loved a little differently.</p><p>I made mistakes, kept things I should have said, and thought I had more time.</p><p>I didn't realise that some truths become heavier when they're delayed.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe I could have handled things better.</p><p>Maybe honesty at the right time could have changed the ending.</p><p>But regret is cruel because it only shows you what you should have known before.</p><p><br/></p><p>Now, the people I once thought would stay are memories I carry quietly.</p><p>I don't know if we'll ever speak again, but I hope they're doing okay.</p><p>And maybe I'm learning that losing people doesn't mean I've lost every good thing they left behind.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>“There are friendships that end with a fight, and then there are the ones that simply become memories.”</strong></p>
