The preacher’s note.

We all have mistakes which we’ve learned from, the errors that we wouldn’t want others to find out. We’d want our children to avoid them and we try to guide them onto the path we believe is right. I’ve reasoned everything and it’s true: it’s messy, it’s all dirty, yet we came out of it. it’s something we’ve already done, though we wished it never happened, it is already part of our story.

We soiled our garments and stained the clothing, though we wash ourselves clean, there’s still a mark that shows it has been stained, not that obvious but only for those present. It’s something we hide out of the pleasure we once sought. Our tale of friendship, our story of fulfilled desires led us into what we now call mistakes. It seemed right while in the moment but the aftermath came with pain. for instance, “an abortion, finding out i cheated on my partner, how’d I feel knowing i had kids after all this. I’d feel the physical ache after the emotional wound I carved in my heart, I’ve betrayed all within me.” It’s all convicting.

It’s not judgement but certainty, emphasis on that pain leaves us in a never-ending cycle. We know what its saying, but did we say it to ourselves? Truth put the pieces and found out, the crumbs we left behind told the story. And all It declares is this: we’re forgiven. We remember. we set things straight. We’d look back but keep moving forward. Though it still rest in our heart the question of what might have been, we know we’re doing the right thing now. we’re on the right path.

It’s time to mend the broken, let’s heal our wounds. with our mended garments let’s continue on this journey. if not unmarked, let’s move forward and that is enough.
