The unnecessary trend that has got me pondering

I've been noticing this trend of women flipping their shirts to expose their backsides, and I have to say, it's got me pondering. Woman ..... You need no flipping of your shirt before we know that you've big bakassi, as the yam that germinate well cannot be hidden.

Some people seem to think it's just a harmless fashion statement, but I'm not so sure. As someone who has irrepressible interest in fashion and culture, I think it's worth exploring the implications of this trend.

For me, it goes down to this: are we promoting self-expression, or are we reinforcing patriarchal norms that reduce women to sex objects? I know some folks might argue that it's empowering for women to dress as they please, without fear of judgment. But personally, I think this trend objectifies women and perpetuates negative stereotypes.

It's not about being old-fashioned; it's about considering the cultural context and potential impact on our society. I'm not saying our culture is in anyway blameless, but we're not living in a vacuum – our choices have consequences. This new trend is an indecent dressing, whether you concur with me or not( It's not necessary you go naked or wear revealing clothing before your dressing can be termed indecent) And when it comes to fashion, I think we need to be thoughtful and be mindful of the messages we're passing.I find this new trend ridiculous and childish.

Why flipping your shirt to showcase your backside? Why don't you shorten the length of your shirt before wearing?

I'm not saying I have all the answers, and I'd love to hear other perspectives on this. Maybe we can have a more nuanced discussion about fashion, identity, and societal norms. We can talk about the benefits and shortcomings and I'm very certain that the shortcomings engulf the benefits.

What do you think abi am I overreacting?

@Olarewaju
