The Visit PART 1
<p>The road to Oakridge Estate was quiet. Too quiet.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde noticed it the moment the Uber left.</p><p><br/></p><p>No cars.</p><p>No people.</p><p>Just tall trees swaying slowly like they were whispering secrets.</p><p><br/></p><p>His girlfriend Amara squeezed his hand.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Relax,” she said with a smile. “My parents are going to love you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde forced a smile back.</p><p><br/></p><p>He had never met her family before. But something already felt… wrong.</p><p><br/></p><p>When they reached the mansion, the door opened before they even knocked.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara’s mother stood there.</p><p><br/></p><p>Smiling.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too widely.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Oh my God, you must be Tunde,” she said slowly. “We’ve heard so much about you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Her eyes stayed locked on him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not friendly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Studying him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Behind her, the house was silent.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then Tunde noticed something strange.</p><p><br/></p><p>A tall Black man stood in the corner of the living room.</p><p><br/></p><p>Perfect posture.</p><p><br/></p><p>Perfect smile.</p><p><br/></p><p>But his eyes looked… empty.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Don’t mind Daniel,” Amara’s mother said casually. “He works here.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel slowly turned his head toward Tunde.</p><p><br/></p><p>And whispered:</p><p><br/></p><p>“You should leave tonight.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Before Tunde could respond, Daniel suddenly straightened up again like nothing happened.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara laughed nervously.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Daniel’s a little… weird.”</p><p><br/></p><p>But Tunde felt a chill crawl up his spine.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because Daniel was still staring at him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like he was trying to warn him.</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Later that night, Tunde woke up to a sound.</p><p><br/></p><p>Knocking.</p><p><br/></p><p>Slow.</p><p><br/></p><p>From the inside of his bedroom door.</p><p><br/></p><p>But he had locked it.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tunde…” a voice whispered.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was Daniel.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Please,” he said quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“They’re preparing you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde stared at the door.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel’s whisper still echoed in his mind.</p><p><br/></p><p>“They’re preparing you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>His heart pounded.</p><p>But after a moment… the knocking stopped.</p><p><br/></p><p>Silence filled the room again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde shook his head.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe I imagined it.</p><p><br/></p><p>He stayed in bed.</p><p><br/></p><p>Eventually, he fell asleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>The Next Morning</p><p><br/></p><p>The smell of breakfast woke him up.</p><p><br/></p><p>When Tunde walked downstairs, everyone was already at the table.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara.</p><p>Her mother.</p><p>Her father.</p><p><br/></p><p>And Daniel.</p><p><br/></p><p>Standing perfectly still behind them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Everyone turned their heads at the exact same time when Tunde entered.</p><p><br/></p><p>The movement was so synchronized it made his stomach twist.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Good morning!” Amara said cheerfully.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her father gestured to the chair.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Sit, sit. We were just talking about you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde sat down slowly.</p><p><br/></p><p>The father smiled.</p><p><br/></p><p>“So, Tunde… Amara says you’re studying computer science.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde nodded.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Yes, sir.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The father leaned forward.</p><p><br/></p><p>“And you’re very healthy, right?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde blinked.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Uh… yeah?”</p><p><br/></p><p>The father looked… pleased.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too pleased.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Good. Good.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Then Amara’s mother suddenly said:</p><p><br/></p><p>“You must be very strong too.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde frowned.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Sorry?”</p><p><br/></p><p>She tilted her head slightly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Young men like you usually are.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel, still standing behind them, slowly turned his head toward Tunde.</p><p><br/></p><p>His eyes widened slightly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like he was trying to warn him again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then something strange happened.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara’s father pulled out his phone and showed Tunde a photo.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was a picture of Tunde.</p><p><br/></p><p>From yesterday.</p><p><br/></p><p>At the front gate.</p><p><br/></p><p>Taken before they even met him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s chest tightened.</p><p><br/></p><p>“How did you get that picture?”</p><p><br/></p><p>The father smiled calmly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Oh… we like to prepare for our guests.”</p><p><br/></p><p>At that moment…</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel suddenly dropped a tray in the kitchen.</p><p><br/></p><p>It crashed loudly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Everyone at the table snapped their heads toward him at the same time.</p><p><br/></p><p>Their smiles disappeared.</p><p><br/></p><p>Completely.</p><p><br/></p><p>For a second… they looked angry.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then they turned back to Tunde.</p><p><br/></p><p>And smiled again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel quickly cleaned the tray.</p><p><br/></p><p>But as he walked past Tunde…</p><p><br/></p><p>He whispered again:</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tonight… they will start.”</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
