<p>Tunde tried to move.</p><p><br/></p><p>He couldn’t.</p><p><br/></p><p>His body felt heavy… numb.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like it no longer belonged to him.</p><p><br/></p><p>The basement lights burned into his eyes as hands forced him into one of the metal chairs.</p><p><br/></p><p>Straps tightened around his wrists.</p><p><br/></p><p>His chest.</p><p><br/></p><p>His legs.</p><p><br/></p><p>He struggled.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Wait—wait! Please—”</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara crouched in front of him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Calm.</p><p><br/></p><p>Beautiful.</p><p><br/></p><p>Empty.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You’ll be fine,” she said softly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Most of you always say that,” a voice added behind her.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde turned his head.</p><p><br/></p><p>One of the guests.</p><p><br/></p><p>An old man.</p><p><br/></p><p>Smiling.</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’ve been waiting for a body like yours.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>A screen flickered on.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Machines hummed.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel stood in the corner.</p><p><br/></p><p>Watching.</p><p><br/></p><p>But not helping.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not anymore.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s breathing became frantic.</p><p><br/></p><p>“What are you doing to me?!”</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara stood up.</p><p><br/></p><p>“We’re not hurting you,” she said.</p><p><br/></p><p>“We’re moving you.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s heart dropped.</p><p><br/></p><p>A doctor stepped forward holding a small device.</p><p><br/></p><p>Thin.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sharp.</p><p><br/></p><p>Cold.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Once it begins,” Amara continued, “you’ll still be here…”</p><p><br/></p><p>She leaned closer.</p><p><br/></p><p>“…you just won’t be in control.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>The machine powered on.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>A loud ringing filled Tunde’s ears.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then—</p><p><br/></p><p>Darkness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not sleep.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not unconsciousness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Something else.</p><p><br/></p><p>He was falling.</p><p><br/></p><p>Endlessly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Screaming.</p><p><br/></p><p>But no sound came out.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then—</p><p><br/></p><p>He stopped.</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde opened his eyes.</p><p><br/></p><p>Darkness.</p><p><br/></p><p>Infinite.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like floating in deep water.</p><p><br/></p><p>Above him—</p><p><br/></p><p>A small square of light.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like a window.</p><p><br/></p><p>And inside it…</p><p><br/></p><p>He saw his own body.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sitting in the chair.</p><p><br/></p><p>Moving.</p><p><br/></p><p>Talking.</p><p><br/></p><p>But it wasn’t him.</p><p><br/></p><p>It was someone else.</p><p><br/></p><p>Using him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde screamed.</p><p><br/></p><p>Pounded against the invisible barrier.</p><p><br/></p><p>But he couldn’t reach it.</p><p><br/></p><p>Couldn’t escape.</p><p><br/></p><p>A voice echoed around him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Soft.</p><p><br/></p><p>Familiar.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel.</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’m sorry…”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde turned.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel appeared beside him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not physically.</p><p><br/></p><p>Just… there.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like a memory.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You’re here now,” Daniel said quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Where?” Tunde shouted.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel looked up at the distant light.</p><p><br/></p><p>“The place they bury us.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Upstairs—<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde stood up slowly.</p><p><br/></p><p>But his movements were… different.</p><p><br/></p><p>Controlled.</p><p><br/></p><p>Precise.</p><p><br/></p><p>Too calm.</p><p><br/></p><p>The guests clapped softly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara’s father smiled.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Perfect transfer.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The old man—the buyer—flexed Tunde’s fingers.</p><p><br/></p><p>Adjusted his shoulders.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then smiled.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Yes…”</p><p><br/></p><p>“…this will do nicely.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>But Down Below…</p><p><br/></p><p>In the darkness…</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde was still there.</p><p><br/></p><p>Still conscious.</p><p><br/></p><p>Still fighting.</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’m not staying here…” he muttered.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel looked at him.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You can’t leave.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde clenched his fists.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Watch me.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Upstairs—<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s body suddenly froze.</p><p><br/></p><p>Mid-step.</p><p><br/></p><p>The room went quiet.</p><p><br/></p><p>The old man frowned.</p><p><br/></p><p>“What’s happening?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s fingers twitched.</p><p><br/></p><p>Uncontrollably.</p><p><br/></p><p>Then his head jerked slightly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Like something inside was resisting.</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Down in the darkness—<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde ran.</p><p><br/></p><p>Not physically.</p><p><br/></p><p>But with will.</p><p><br/></p><p>With anger.</p><p><br/></p><p>With everything he had left.</p><p><br/></p><p>He pushed toward the light.</p><p><br/></p><p>Toward the window.</p><p><br/></p><p>Toward his body.</p><p><br/></p><p>Daniel shouted:</p><p><br/></p><p>“STOP! If you fight, it’ll tear you apart!”</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde didn’t care.</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’d rather die than disappear.”</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Back Upstairs</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s body began shaking violently.</p><p><br/></p><p>The old man staggered.</p><p><br/></p><p>“CONTROL HIM!”</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara stepped forward.</p><p><br/></p><p>But then—</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde’s head snapped up.</p><p><br/></p><p>And for a split second…</p><p><br/></p><p>His eyes changed.</p><p><br/></p><p>From calm…</p><p><br/></p><p>To rage.</p><p><br/></p><p>Real rage.</p><p><br/></p><p>⸻</p><p><br/></p><p>Tunde slowly turned his head toward Amara.<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>And spoke.</p><p><br/></p><p>But the voice…</p><p><br/></p><p>Was layered.</p><p><br/></p><p>Two voices at once.</p><p><br/></p><p>“I’m… still… here.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Amara’s smile faded for the first time.</p><p><br/></p>
