The Ways I Know You
<p><sub>I know you in the way you hold things so dear to heart</sub></p><p><sub>In the parts you've crossed uncertain.</sub></p><p><sub>In the bridges that have been broken behind you</sub></p><p><sub>In the way the past comes knocking- telling you never to worry because it would remind you</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I know you like a purple Morning Glory. </sub></p><p><sub>How you fold into yourself when the sun becomes too bright</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I know you in different forms but joy.</sub></p><p><sub>And if they ever ask, "what made you so broken?". </sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I'd ask them, if they've ever been thirsty but their hands weren't able to reach out for a glass of water</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I know you in soaked pillows left outside pretending to be dry</sub></p><p><sub>Only to return and get drowned again in liquid</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>"Liquid"</sub></p><p><sub>Not carbonated drinks</sub></p><p><sub>Not the kind in the 3 forms of matter</sub></p><p><sub>Science can't precipitate this one</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>It's a pain driven liquid</sub></p><p><sub>Born from the chaos of living</sub></p><p><sub>They flow through the moist soil of your skin.... and leaves your eyes bulging with stories you never told</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I know you from excerpts of sad books. </sub></p><p><sub>I know you in different forms like the chaos on Oshodi bridge.</sub></p><p><sub>From moments that echo too loudly</sub></p><p><sub>I know you in mistaken choices</sub></p><p><sub>In unintentional circles</sub></p><p><sub>In unfamiliar phases </sub></p><p><sub>In piece of broken love stories- unfamiliar with BROKEN by Fatima Bala, undecided love and hypocritic lovers. </sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I know you in patches of " I wish", "I should have", "I would have done something better". </sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>I might not know all of you.....</sub></p><p><sub><br/></sub></p><p><sub>But I hope you become FULL again</sub></p><p><sub>So I know you wholly</sub></p><p><sub>So when I say I know you</sub></p><p><sub>I mean "all of you in redemption". </sub></p>
