To the Boy who Saw me.
<p>The thought of losing you was enough to make me comport myself.</p><p>Your very presence brought a smile to my face,<br/></p><p>your very presence consumed my every being.</p><p>I met you at a time I was barely holding it together.<br/></p><p>Every other night, I’d shed a single tear<br/></p><p>because a hard girl like me can’t be caught crying.</p><p>Seconds turned to minutes,<br/></p><p>minutes to hours,</p><p>hours to days,</p><p>days to weeks,</p><p>and suddenly I couldn’t remember the last time I cried.</p><p>To me, you healed me,<br/></p><p>but truthfully I buried my emotions</p><p>and pushed love up.</p><p>The love I had for you suppressed every other emotion<br/></p><p>I had ever bottled up,</p><p>and it seemed like it wouldn’t explode anytime soon.</p><p>The love I had for you made me see life in a different light,<br/></p><p>the love I had for you made me happy.</p><p>Something changed,<br/></p><p>maybe I didn’t realize due to my clouded judgment,</p><p>but the signs were there,</p><p>and when I realized, it was too late.</p><p>Truly, but slowly,<br/></p><p>my emotions started resurfacing.</p><p>I started experiencing little things on a deeper level,<br/></p><p>and at the same time,</p><p>I lost someone very dear,</p><p>not to death but to choice,</p><p>and that was the beginning of life after love. If I was being honest my love for you proved that I’m still capable of love.</p><p><br/></p>
