On the business side of things, how can one grow a makeup and cosmetology brand from the scratch to the point of having high paying and popular clients?
I would say Consistency and branding. Consistency is what gets you the recognition. When you start a makeup ;and cosmetology brand, every feed, posts and tweet should give an indication of what you are about, people would begin to notice you if you are consistent with updates on what you do online.
Then the branding sets in. Look at your competitors, what are they doing that you can do differently? What makes you unique? What are they doing to make their mark in the industry?
This is where you test yourself to know your strengths , dwell on that to build a brand that popular clients would sort for. Most makeup artists in Ghana are into transformation. I believe in enhancing beauty and not transforming the looks of people with makeup products. That is what I am noted for. Most influential and high paying clients are into the beauty enhancement and not transformations so I targeted that area and worked really hard to become the standard of what my target market look for in a makeup artist.
Be consistent enough to be recognized and build a solid brand.
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
