Maybe we don't fear change. Maybe we fear becoming strangers to ourselves.

We often cling to old habits, friendships, and places not because they are necessarily good for us, but because they are familiar versions of ourselves.

There is comfort in what we already know. Even when something no longer serves us, leaving it behind can make us feel like we are abandoning a part of us.

Perhaps, that is why change can be so frightening. It does not merely ask us to leave something behind. it demands us to meet a version of ourselves we have never known before.

And sometimes, the hardest part of growing is accepting that becoming someone new may require letting go of someone familiar.
