A Guy

I once met a guy who kept mysteriously crossing paths with me.

It went on for close to two months, and I started looking for him every time I walked that path. So, that day, I met a friend who was with him, a friend I knew, and he decided to matchmake us.

But honestly, I just wanted to get to know him more and, at least, be friends with him. So, my friend gave him my number, and he texted. This guy agreed to meet with me outside his hostel, and I was happy that day.

I remember dressing up and wearing the nicest perfume I had just to impress him and make a good first impression. Then I went out and walked up to him.

I asked if we could sit and talk, but he claimed to be tired and wanted to stand and talk instead.

I hated crowds and people staring because I always got tense and anxious, but I stood there, talking to him with several people walking past us, just because I was curious about him.

We talked for a while before I offered to let him go since he was tired. He laughed and called me "considerate," with a tone I couldn't make out. As he walked away, he promised to text as soon as he got to his room.

I went up to my room feeling fulfilled that day, like I had gotten a prize I'd been dying to have.

And then, I started waiting.

Waiting for his text.

I waited a day.

Two days.

Three days.

A week later, my friend texted me asking about him.

"How's he?"

"I've forgotten about him sinceee," I replied.

And I really did.

Until now...
