<p>The art of fake smiles she has mastered</p><p>It puzzles me how she'd smile so brightly </p><p>And be hurting deep inside</p><p>She's brave tho, I'd give her that</p><p>But she doesn't have to be this brave</p><p>She doesn't have to be alone </p><p>She doesn't have to hide her pain</p><p>All of these and more she knows</p><p>Only if it were that easy </p><p>Then she wouldn't be like this;</p><p>Broken beyond repair, alone,</p><p>Afraid, scarred beyond healing</p><p>If only it were that easy</p><p>She wasn't always like this you know</p><p>She wasn't always this broken</p><p>She used to be sweet and lovely</p><p>But it all happened in a flash</p><p> The art of fake smiles she has mastered</p><p>It puzzles me how she'd smile so brightly </p><p>And be hurting deep inside</p><p>She's brave tho, I'd give her that</p><p>But she doesn't have to be this brave</p><p>She doesn't have to be alone </p><p>She doesn't have to hide her pain</p><p>All of these and more she knows</p><p>Only if it were that easy </p><p>Then she wouldn't be like this;</p><p>Broken beyond repair, alone,</p><p>Afraid, scarred beyond healing</p><p>If only it were that easy</p><p>She wasn't always like this you know</p><p>She wasn't always this broken</p><p>She used to be sweet and lovely</p><p>But it all happened in a flash</p><p> She watched her poems go from love to sadness</p><p>And she heard a poet once say</p><p>You don't need drugs to bring you to your feet</p><p>Neither do you need alcohol to finish you</p><p>Nor darkness to feel your world turn grey</p><p>For all that you love and hold dear </p><p>Will tear you apart</p><p>Bit by bit, piece by piece</p><p>Until you're nothing</p><p>As fate may have it </p><p>It's a poem she could relate to</p><p>It shouldn't have to be this way</p><p>But who is she to question fate</p><p>She questions her existence</p><p>Wondering how and why she'd come to live </p><p>For the thread she had been holding on to has finally snapped</p><p>She questions where she had gone wrong</p><p>She wants to know why karma made her pay</p><p>Pay for a sin she probably knows nothing about</p>
