BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY.
<p><br/></p><p>Big girls don't cry. </p><p>I sang loudly while tears drop from my eyes. </p><p>I guess I've always been a little girl, unseen and unknown. </p><p>My pain never to be spoken of. </p><p>My thoughts never to be seen. </p><p>My ideas shoved to the back of the classroom. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>You know, I was always comfortable with not being heard, </p><p>With not being seen, </p><p>With not being spoken of </p><p>Because apparently I was too little. </p><p>Apparently I was not good enough. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>But the pain was deep. </p><p>My sorrows run bleak. </p><p>The only future I dream of is a future </p><p>Where darkness covers the face of the earth </p><p>And I am nothing </p><p>Because basically I have been nothing my whole life. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It's hard to survive. </p><p>It's hard to try to be something. </p><p>It's hard to try to make someone happy </p><p>Even if that person is not yourself. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>But human beings are always selfish. </p><p>I want to be happy— </p><p>Not the one making people happy. </p><p>I want to be heard— </p><p>Not the one holding people. </p><p>I want to be heard— </p><p>Not the one listening. </p><p>I want to be spoken of— </p><p>Not the one speaking about people. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>I guess I've always disappointed my mother. </p><p>She wanted something more, but I'm not. </p><p>I'm something less. </p><p>She wanted nothing less than perfection,</p><p>But it seems like my mistakes and my flaw run deep. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>It's so hard. </p><p>So once again I sing, </p><p>Big girls don't cry, </p><p>But I've never been a big girl.</p>
