Your boy.”</p><p><br/></p><p>I ran my hands through my hair.</p><p><br/></p><p>“This doesn’t make sense.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The man chuckled.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Oh it makes perfect sense.”</p><p><br/></p><p>He turned to the woman.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tell him.”</p><p><br/></p><p>She looked up at me, her eyes heavy with something that looked like regret.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tavi and I were together,” she said quietly.</p><p><br/></p><p>I swallowed hard.</p><p><br/></p><p>“But things were already broken between us.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Rylee scoffed.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Broken?”</p><p><br/></p><p>She nodded.</p><p><br/></p><p>“He was distant. Angry. Always suspicious.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Dolapo crossed her arms.</p><p><br/></p><p>“That still doesn’t explain BigDan.”</p><p><br/></p><p>She looked at me again.</p><p><br/></p><p>And finally the truth began spilling out.</p><p><br/></p><p>“The night everything happened… Tavi had already accused me of cheating.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The man smirked.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Because he had proof.”</p><p><br/></p><p>She shook her head.</p><p><br/></p><p>“No.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Her voice cracked slightly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“He had suspicions.”</p><p><br/></p><p>She looked directly at me.</p><p><br/></p><p>“And that night… I came to this café.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Memories flickered in my mind.</p><p><br/></p><p>A late night.</p><p><br/></p><p>Rain outside.</p><p><br/></p><p>A long conversation about writing and broken relationships.</p><p><br/></p><p>I felt my stomach twist.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You were upset,” I whispered.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Yes.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“And we talked for hours.”</p><p><br/></p><p>“Yes.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Rylee leaned forward.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Did you two—”</p><p><br/></p><p>She raised her hand.</p><p><br/></p><p>“No.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The café went silent again.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Nothing happened between us.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The man laughed loudly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Now that’s a beautiful performance.”</p><p><br/></p><p>He clapped slowly.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Really. Oscar-worthy.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Dolapo narrowed her eyes.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Why are you enjoying this?”</p><p><br/></p><p>His smile faded.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Because Tavi deserved better than this circus.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Then he looked directly at me.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You want the truth?”</p><p><br/></p><p>I didn’t answer.</p><p><br/></p><p>But he said it anyway.</p><p><br/></p><p>“The reason Tavi disappeared…”</p><p><br/></p><p>He paused.</p><p><br/></p><p>“…wasn’t heartbreak.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Another pause.</p><p><br/></p><p>“…it was humiliation.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Faye suddenly stepped closer to the table.</p><p><br/></p><p>And when she spoke, her voice carried something none of us expected.</p><p><br/></p><p>Authority.</p><p><br/></p><p>“You’re wrong.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Everyone turned toward her.</p><p><br/></p><p>The man frowned.</p><p><br/></p><p>“And who exactly are you?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Faye didn’t even look at him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Her eyes stayed on me.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tavi didn’t disappear because of humiliation.”</p><p><br/></p><p>The café felt colder again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Dolapo frowned.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Then why did he disappear?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Faye inhaled slowly.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because the next sentence was the one nobody was ready for.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Tavi disappeared because he discovered something dangerous.”</p><p><br/></p><p>Rylee blinked.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Dangerous?”</p><p><br/></p><p>Faye nodded.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Yes.”</p><p><br/></p><p>She looked straight at the woman sitting beside me.</p><p><br/></p><p>“Something about her.”</p><p><br/></p><p>---</p><p><strong><br/></strong></p><h3><strong>Next On…</strong></h3><p><br/></p><p>Tomorrow night, Faye will reveal what Tavi discovered.</p><p><br/></p><p>But the truth will shake everyone in the café.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because the woman at the center of this story…</p><p><br/></p><p>Is not who she claims to be.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
