<p>A faint warmth pulsed in his sword.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Time cracked—</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Everything slowed to a crawl.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎The Echo’s blade hung in mid-air, inches from his neck. Particles of floating dust hovered like frozen stars.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Kairo stepped aside, breathing shakily.</p><p>‎“I… I did it.”</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Time resumed.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎The Echo slashed the empty space where he had stood.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Kairo delivered a clean strike across its chest—</p><p>‎</p><p>‎A burst of blue light exploded, and the Echo staggered backward, flickering like a dying flame before dissolving into particles.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Kairo collapsed to his knees, exhausted.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Aira approached slowly, helping him up.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎“You survived your first Echo,” she said. “But that was only a fragment. The real threat is still ahead.”</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Kairo looked at the spot where the Echo vanished.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎“That thing… it felt like me. Like it knew what I was going to do.”</p><p>‎</p><p>‎“It does,” Aira whispered. “Your future is trying to rewrite itself.”</p><p>‎</p><p>‎The white plain began to crumble around them. Cracks spread beneath their feet.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎Aira tightened her grip on his arm.</p><p>‎</p><p>‎“This place won’t hold much longer.
