Can You Be Selfish, Mom?

Why do you have to mean so much to me, Mom? Why did you give so much of yourself that I will forever be indebted to you?

Your words sheltered me from the sharp needles of the world. Even when life left you sitting on pins, you never stopped encouraging me.

Why? Why? Why? Why do you have to be so selfless that you would rather go hungry than watch my siblings and me cry for more, even after we had eaten our fill?

Mom, in the scorching sun, in the pouring rain, and through the raging wind, you shielded us. You held us close to your bosom so that no dust would settle on us. Your clothes became stained while trying to keep us clean, yet you never pushed us away.

You carried me on your back while you worked, and I selfishly demanded that you never put me down. You stayed by my side when you should have been resting after a long day's work. You could have abandoned me, left me by the roadside, or at the gates of an orphanage, but you never did. You chose to keep me, love me, and protect me from a world I was too young to face alone.

Mom, can you be selfish for just one day? I never want to know what life feels like without you, but please, think about yourself too. Rest. Eat. Smile. Take care of your heart, because it has spent a lifetime taking care of ours.

To everyone whose mother is still here, cherish her. You are who you are today because of her sacrifices. If your mother is far away, pray for her. And if she has gone to her eternal rest, live a life that will make her sacrifices worthwhile and give her soul peace.

Mom, if being selfless is your greatest strength, then allowing yourself to be cared for should be your greatest gift—to yourself and to those who love you.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
