Carved in Silence
<p>In the hush of the bathroom light,
</p><p>Fluorescent and merciless,
</p><p>I become an artist of my own ruin,
</p><p>The blade whispers, a silver secret
</p><p>Tracing rivers no one else will see
</p><p><br/></p><p>Each line is a word I cannot speak
</p><p><em>help, hurt, here, gone.
</em></p><p>They bloom red then brown,
</p><p>Tiny maps of a war fought in stillness
</p><p>Where the only witness is the mirror
</p><p>And the mirror lies beautifully.
</p><p><br/></p><p>Outside this door, the world keeps laughing
</p><p>Inside, I am quiet thunder.
</p><p>No one sees the galleries hidden
</p><p>Beneath long sleeves and careful smiles
</p><p>Row after row of delicate red poetry
</p><p>Written in a language only I understand
</p><p><br/></p><p>No scream escape these walls
</p><p>Only the soft drip of time
</p><p>And the dull thud of a heart
</p><p>That refuses to stop.
</p><p><br/></p><p>I press harder, chasing the sting
</p><p>That proves that I am still real
</p><p>In a world thar passes through me
</p><p>Like smoke
</p><p><br/></p><p>These marks are my quiet rebellion,
</p><p>My hidden poetry,
</p><p>Written in a language
</p><p>Only the lonely can read.
</p><p><br/></p><p>By morning they sleep beneath sleeves,
</p><p>Polite smiles, and careful laughter
</p><p>Tombstones dressed as skin.
</p><p><br/></p><p>I am carved in silence,
</p><p>A living monument
</p><p>To the things I cannot say
</p><p>Yet somewhere beneath the strokes,
</p><p>A small voice still flickers:
</p><p><strong><em>Stay</em></strong></p><p><em><strong>Just one more day.</strong></em></p><p>
