Dance the Night
<p>Last I remembered , I was about to ask him what he would do if he woke up the next morning and I was next to him, not as his girlfriend, but as his wife. </p><p>I kicked my feet in the air, smiling sheepishly as I fantasized about his possible response </p><p>And before I knew it, there I was in a dress</p><p>A white dress....</p><p>Long and gleaming.....</p><p>Embellished with beautiful diamonds </p><p>I walked slowly toward the beautiful echoes of the orchestra </p><p>At least all I heard were blurry, slightly muffled echoes </p><p>Slowly.....</p><p>Uncontrolled.....</p><p>A tear dropped from my left eye</p><p>Then from the right </p><p>It was really happening </p><p>I saw him standing there in his mafia suit, a perfect smile breaking through his shiny teeth </p><p>I'm familiar with his smile</p><p>But in that moment it was different, brighter </p><p>We exchanged I dos</p><p>And in no time we were back at the house </p><p>Our home</p><p>I didn't want the night to end just like that</p><p>So I played him my favourite song </p><p>I pulled his reluctant body off the couch to the middle of the living room </p><p>Slowly, his heart got in the groove </p><p>His eyes gentle, as he took in my smile</p><p>We danced the night till our soles got tired </p><p>Barefoot, breathless, and finally his</p><p><br/></p><p>....somewhere between laughter and silence, I closed my eyes and I fell asleep in his arms , one last time </p><p>No longer just his love </p><p>But with the permanence of his name tagged on mine </p>
