<p>Dead, Yet Alive<br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Been alive, but dead,</p><p>Living life with no direction.</p><p>A dead man,</p><p>Full of sins,</p><p>Glancing at the sky,</p><p>Hoping for a change.</p><p><br/></p><p>He knows something is missing,</p><p>But refuses to find it.</p><p>He is dead spiritually,</p><p>But still alive.</p><p>He is struggling,</p><p>Still breathing,</p><p>Still searching,</p><p>But he is dead.</p><p><br/></p><p>But why is he dead?</p><p><br/></p><p>Living in sin,</p><p>Chasing pleasure,</p><p>Looking for light</p><p>In places that only grow darker.</p><p><br/></p><p>He tries to fill the emptiness,</p><p>But nothing seems to satisfy.</p><p>He keeps searching,</p><p>Yet remains lost.</p><p>He has life in his body,</p><p>But no life in his soul.</p><p>He walks, he speaks, he laughs,</p><p>Yet something within him is dead.</p><p>He longs for peace,</p><p>But keeps looking in the wrong places.</p><p><br/></p><p>He sees the light,</p><p>But keeps walking away.</p><p>He knows the truth,</p><p>Yet still chooses sin.</p><p>Still, grace calls him home.</p><p><br/></p><p>What he needs</p><p>Is not another pleasure,</p><p>But a new nature.</p><p>A life that is eternal,</p><p>A life dead to sin,</p><p>A life truly alive</p><p>In Christ Jesus.</p>
