Even here, God is with me.

Does it ever get better?

I’ve asked myself this more times than I can count.

Give me just a few moments of your time—I promise I’ll be quick.

I know you’re going through something. Truth is, we all are. Every time, there’s always something. A problem, a struggle, a weight we never asked for. And sometimes, I can’t help but wonder: why does it never end? Why does life always seem to come with another storm? Why can’t things just stay normal, at least for once?

People give many answers to these questions. My favorite one has always been: “we go through pain so that we can know happiness.” It sounds comforting, but if I’m being honest, it never felt completely true for me.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had awful luck. Nothing ever seemed to go right. At one point, I even believed I was cursed—or that I had done something to offend God. Growing up, I realize now that I was too short-sighted. I never really noticed the little things that went well. My eyes were always fixed on what went wrong, what was going wrong, or what might go wrong. And every time I think about that, guilt creeps in.

Because deep down, I know God does love me. He always has. Even when it doesn’t look like it, even when I doubt it myself, His presence is there. I see it in the smallest gestures: the quiet reassurance that brushes against my heart, the unseen company when I feel most alone, the gentle push of motivation when I’ve almost given up.

And I believe you’ve felt it too, in your own way.

No matter how dark it gets, there is always a light. Sometimes it’s small, sometimes so faint you almost miss it. But it’s there.

Like a sprout in a drought—fragile, barely visible, yet proof that life still breathes, and hope is never fully gone.
