FEELING IS NOT THE SAME AS REACTING

Have you ever been angry sent a message and regretted it 5 minutes later?

I feel that most of us have been in this type of situation before and we have either thought that we shouldn’t have let our feelings or emotions get the best of us and that we would have handled it better if we did.

As someone who can be very temperamental most times I’d say it’s not that easy to not act on one’s immediate feelings and pick other ways to react.

Sometimes the intensity of the emotions might overwhelm how you want to actually react. Your mind would know that you should be calm and careful about how you act upon what is said but that feeling of anger sometimes can get the best of you and make you react rather wrongly.

And I’d say it is normal sometimes because we are human and it can be part of one’s flaws . But if you want to be more heard in a way that you wouldn’t end up regretting one could try to stay calm and seek out a better way to react to the situation.

As we know a feeling is an emotional experience or a state you experience in response to something .

While a reaction is the way in which you respond or behave because of what you are feeling.

As seen these are two different things and if one is aiming at becoming better at handling their emotions we should learn to react in ways that will bring about a better outcome .

Me as a person is trying to act on this so I believe that if anyone has been in this situation they should try it as well.

😌

“WHEN EMOTIONS TAKE OVER, DO YOU RESPOND TO THE SITUATION OR SIMPLY REACT TO THE FEELING?”
