FRAGMENTS OF ME
<p>hmmm…</p><p>‎i continue to wonder</p><p>‎if my heartbeat ever ceases,</p><p>would i even notice?</p><p>‎the only one i gave my heart to</p><p>‎already shattered it</p><p><br/></p><p>‎like a broken mirror</p><p>‎that can’t reflect</p><p>‎what’s no longer there</p><p><br/></p><p>‎mirrors are meant to show our reflection</p><p>‎but when i look into mine,</p><p>‎all i see</p><p>‎is the anguish</p><p>‎of a broken vessel</p><p><br/></p><p>‎broken vessels have sharp edges</p><p>‎they wound without meaning to</p><p>‎and when others bleed,</p><p><br/></p><p>‎they speak</p><p>‎without knowing</p><p>‎what lives inside me</p><p><br/></p><p>‎so i begin to believe them</p><p>‎that i am too damaged,</p><p>‎too much,</p><p><br/></p><p>‎not meant to exist beside anyone</p><p>‎a lot of them come</p><p>‎trying to pour into me,</p><p><br/></p><p>‎to fill what’s empty</p><p>‎but they forget</p><p><br/></p><p>holding water in a</p><p>‎broken vessel is impossible...</p><p><br/></p><p>‎even if it's fixed,</p><p>‎the cracks remain</p><p>‎visible as old lightning</p><p>‎across the surface,</p><p><br/></p><p>‎and the water it holds ‎will never taste ‎like the water ‎an unbroken vessel carries.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>‎</p>
