Give me back my house :I don’t want a home

You took my home from me and gave me a house. Home of peace and tourism but my rival is exceeding far above the standard I tried so hard to maintain. Tourism won’t even sell, for fear of tourists meeting their maker too soon.

The time of reckoning is fast approaching. The anchor is adamant on taking this race to the next level, neglecting the fact that starting a new race would be much more favorable. The earlier, the better is not applicable to those who have failed to see the errors in their previous races.

Prioritizing pitching yourself will never make up for promises that were never kept, promises that turned out to be empty vessels of sheer hopelessness and insecurity.

As the years go by, there is no one to hold our hands and ensure us a better tomorrow. Even the commission meant to be independent is dependent on the corruption deeply rooted in the dust we were created from.

Preventing the other side from reaching their potential because their existence will not set you up for life or allow you to live far above the means set for you.

“Change starts from me,” they say, but it is difficult to get something meant to be easily obtainable. Even if I do obtain it, what is the guarantee my vote will count? Being aware of the situation of the “independent commission,” I cannot even protest properly, knowing fully well the mindset towards protesters is off-putting: “They’d get tired and agree to our negligence; they are Nigerians, so they adapt.”

Can we stop adapting to every situation we get involved in? Can we curb little acts of corruption we brush aside just because it’s not a big deal? Can we start and end with us so we don’t leave loose ends in the thread?

Let the change start from me, so I can set the foundation for a better Nigeria.
